The ship formally know as Marella Spirit, Thomson Spirit, Patriot, and Nieuw Amsterdam has been sold to the scrappers. The 1984-built ship has been renamed Mare S and will head to Alang shortly. She is currently laid-up in Piraeus. It was reported back in September that she will be leaving the fleet and sadly we now know where her future lies.
