Carnival Jubilee at sea

Introduction to the Carnival Celebration

Some initial thoughts before our next voyage.

In just a few weeks I will be embarking on our next trip to be featured here, a 7-night Eastern Caribbean voyage on the Carnival Celebration. While we’ve covered Carnival ships quite extensively here, it has been a while since being on a ship for the voyage.

The Carnival Celebration is the second in Carnival Cruise Lines XL-class, and the 7th ship in the Excellence class throughout the entire Carnival Corp. family. The Celebration, along with her older sister the Mardi Gras, are unlike the previous carnival ships which all feature the same evolution in design. It will be interesting to see how the many new venues fit in with the rest of the fleet.

Food

Food is always a main priority on every cruise and on mainstream cruises there tends to be even more variety. I am very curious to see what Carnival’s complimentary food options are like. And you can be assured that they will all be featured on my Instagram.

Cabins

As this is an entirely new design for Carnival Cruise Lines, the cabins feature a new design as well. We will be in a standard balcony to get the most typical cruiser experience.

Crowding

The XL-class of ships can carry up to 6,500 and it should be a pretty full ship this trip. I’m eager to see how passenger flow is, what the pool area is like on a sea day, and what the general overall crowding is like.

You can follow along at all the usual places, Twitter, Instagram, and I will of course do a full ship tour and review posted here.
