UPDATE: It turns out that all initial reports in German media, where the story origionated from, redacted their story and said that it was an error. The Deutschland is not up for sale. As for Crystal’s announcement; it was their 2017 fleet deployment.
There’s multiple reports that Crystal Cruises have purchased Peter Deilmann Cruises vessel the m/s Deutschland. The move doesn’t make too much sense from Crystal’s perspective unless this is explicitly to enter the German market. The ship is 16 years old and comes in at only 22,400gt. It carries only around 600 pax. Crystal’s ships, while ultra-luxary, are quite large for the market.
