Fincantieri has announced that they have finalized and agreement with Carnival Corp. for the construction of 4 more ships. With this announcement, we now know 8 of the 9 ships they ordered back in March.
This order breaks down as follows:
- 2 ships for Costa Group’s Asian division. They will be 135,500 gt and carry 4,200pax. Scheduled delivery will be in 2019 and 2020. They will be an enhanced version of the Costa Diadema (133,019gt). The new Costa Ship will also be bigger than the Carnival Vista (135,000gt)
- P&O Australia also gets their first very own newbuild. This will be similar to the Costa newbuild above coming in at 135,500 gt and 4,200pax.
- A 4th Royal-class ship for Princess Cruises. She will join her sisters, Royal, Regal and Majestic.
