Video has just surfaced of Celebrity’s Infinity alliding with the dock yesterday in Ketchikan. While maneuvering into her berth, the ship was struck broadside by a strong gust of wind. In the video you can see the weather wasn’t favorable. This caused her to move sideways faster than her bow thrusters and pods could keep up with.
The harbormaster estimates around $2 million to $3 million in damage to the pier.
The ship was repaired and inspected by Coast Guard and Class and was able to set sail later in the evening. The ship is currently sailing between Ketchikan and Vancouver where she will arrive tomorrow.
