STX France has just handed over Royal Caribbean’s latest flagship, the Symphony of the Seas. She is now the largest cruise ship ever with an estimate measure of 228,021gt and 1,188ft LOA. The Harmony of the Seas is the same length but is about 1,000 gt smaller at 226,963gt.

The ship will now head to Barcelona for a series of inaugurals and sail a summer Mediterranean program. In the fall she will reposition down to Miami where she will sail year-round on 7-night eastern and western Caribbean cruises.

I’ll have one of our First Look articles up monetarily covering the vessel.
