Seatrade Cruise Global Day 3 [FINAL]

Seatrade Cruise Global 2016
Seatrade Cruise Global 2016

Yesterday was the third and final day of Seatrade Cruise Global.

Here are some notes from the floor from the closing day:

  • Pearl Seas Cruises have canceled their first three cruises to Cuba. The line still doesn’t have the required paperwork and permits to sail to Cuba yet.
  • Not connected to the shows announcements, but coinciding with it, NCL announced that the Norwegian Escape’s departures from Miami will now be at 7:00 PM. The new schedule will apply to sailings from May 7 to July 16 and September 3 to December 31, 2016. The reason given was to allow European sourced passengers adequate time to make it to the ship from the Airport.
  • Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Cruise Terminal announced they saw a rise from 9 lines calling up to 17 expected this year. Passenger growth is expected to double as well.
  • CruiseIndustryNews is reporting that Carnival Corp are financing the sale of the 1999-built Ocean Princess (ex-R Four, Tahitian Princess) from Princess to Oceania’s parent company Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings.

As mentioned, I’ll be at the conference next year so I look forward to meeting everyone there!

Thank you for following along this year.
