[UPDATED] RUMOR: Celebrity Considering Transferring Century to CDF

UPDATE TUESDAY: Cruise Currents is reporting that its official. The 1995-built Century will be leaving the Celebrity fleet in 2015 for the French subsidiary Croisières de France.  Though we’re still waiting on official commentary from the line.

CIN has the following rumor:

According to French news reports, including postings to the Croisières de France (CDF) website, Celebrity Cruises’ 1995-built Celebrity Century will be transferred to CDF, a French cruise line owned and operated by Royal Caribbean Cruises, in 2015.

This makes tons of sense. CDF Croisières de France, which is a subsidiary its self of Pullmantur Cruises, is a subsidiary of Royal Caribbean.  Celebrity is also a parent company of Royal Caribbean. They also have two ex-Celebrity ships, the Horizon and Zenith currently in the fleet. Of course the Century’s two sisters, the Galaxy and Mercury are sailing as the Mein Schiff  1&2 for TUI Cruises of Germany. TUI has two newbuilds about to enter, so perhaps its time that CDF gets some more tonnage.
