Resorts World Bimini’s Bimini Superfast Ferry Ceases Operations

Resorts World Bimini have announced that the Bimini Superfast will no longer sail the Miami-Bimini routes.
The reason given is the lack of popularity on the overnight cruises. Local officials have announced that they will substitute a smaller ferry this summer and will operate her strictly as a ferry and not a cruise-ferry as the Superfast was. The new ferry will be supplemented by air service from Cape Air and Silver Airways out of Florida.

Residents in Bimini are quick to turn on Resorts World, saying that they promised the world to the residents and have yet to live up to those expectations. The low yields on the ferry routes are a clear indication of that.

The route was originally given a blow in December of 2013 when Customs decided they would ban cruises to nowhere out of US ports.
