Over a year ago, Jul 23, 2018 to be exact, Princess signed a memorandum of understanding with builder Fincantieri.
Last year we knew that an agreement was reached for two ships but not much more. With this contract signing we can confirm that these will be a next-generation design. Each will be 175,000gt. As the current Royal-class is 142,714gt and these are at 175k, I very much doubt they can jumboize the existing platform by 32,000gt.
The delivery for the two unnamed vessels are in late 2023 and in spring 2025. This announcement follows the initial signing of a memorandum of agreement between the two parties in July 2018.
Each 4,300 pax vessel will be dual-fuel wil LNG as the primary source.
