This one’s just bizarre. 52 pax were rescued after the ferry, Baleno 168, lost its propeller and started taking on water. The accident took place in Oriental Mindoro, Philippines while she was enroute to Calapan Port Terminal.
Initial attempts to control the flooding failed and the vessel became partially submerged. The Coast Guard Action Center now has the scene quarantined and are commencing Oil Spill Response procedures, just as a cautionary measure.
