When the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro start up, 3,963 guests will be staying onboard the Norwegian Getaway. The IOC has announced that they time chartered the ship for the duration of the summer games. She’ll provide Rio de Janeiro with much needed extra hotel rooms.
NCL is no stranger to charters. At the Sochi winter Olympics recently, the Norwegian Jewel was chartered for similar reasons.
Last year the Getaway was chartered by Anheuser-Busch Companies to host as a rebranded hotel for the Super Bowl in New York/New Jersey.
