Norwegian Breakaway Deck Plans
Norwegian Breakaway, the lead ship of Norwegian Cruise Line’s Breakaway Class, was constructed by Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany, and entered service in 2013. The vessel measures 1,068 feet in length with a beam of 170 feet, a gross tonnage of 145,655, and a draft of 27 feet. Designed to accommodate up to 4,903 passengers at maximum occupancy, Norwegian Breakaway features 2,014 staterooms across 18 decks and is operated by a crew of approximately 1,600. The ship’s deck plan emphasizes large outdoor public spaces, highlighted by The Waterfront promenade, which spans multiple decks with open-air dining and lounge venues. Additional onboard facilities include multiple entertainment theaters, waterslides, a ropes course, casino, spa, and a wide range of specialty restaurants. Propulsion is provided by ABB Azipod XO units powered through a diesel-electric system, enabling a service speed of approximately 21.5 knots while supporting efficient maneuverability and fuel performance on year-round itineraries.
