MSC Cruises has just announced that they ordered a fifth Meraviglia Plus-class ship. The announcement was made at a ceremony at STX France (what it’s still being called for the time being). During the event, MSC Cruises and yard executives celebrated three major milestones:
- The steel-cutting of the 4th Meraviglia Class Ship, now named MSC Virtuosa.
- The traditional Coin Ceremony of MSC Grandiosa, The first of the Meraviglia Plus class of ships.
- The float-out of MSC Bellissima, the second Meraviglia-class ship coming into service in March 2019.
The fifth ship is due to be delivered in 2023.
