MSC Cruises has just announced that they will be building four ‘ultra-luxury cruise ships.’ Each vessel will be built in Italy at one of Fincantieri’s yards. These ships will be 64,000gt and carry only 500 pax. The first of these ships is scheduled to launch in 2023 and then the rest in 2024, 2025 and 2026.
The line is expanding upon its ship-within-a-ship concept called the Yacht Club and is designing these ships to be solely within that level of service.
Its been known for some time that MSC was looking for a smaller ship and it was down to either an expedition ship or a ultra-luxary ship.
