Majesty of the Seas to Leave Royal Caribbean’s Fleet

The Majesty of the Seas was set to transfer to Pullmantur in 2016. Then Royal decided to keep her in their fleet for the foreseeable future.
Now comes word from Seatrade that they will indeed transfer out of the fleet to Pullmantur. Starting in 2018, she will be sailing jointly for Spanish sister line Pullmantur and French sister line CDF.

The idea behind what will happen with this joint line is Spanish pax will sail onboard Horizon and Zenith and French pax will sail on Monarch and Sovereign. Majesty would then split her time between both.

Due to the worsening economies in South America and Spain, Royal Caribbean overhauled these brands last year. That’s how they got the Empress of the Seas back into the Royal fleet.

The Majesty of the Seas is the last remaining of the Sovereign-class of vessels, for the North American market that is, which helped shape the cruise industry into what we have today. They were the largest ships sailing at the time.
