[UPDATED] Louis Sells Majesty to Undisclosed Buyer

UPDATE (Monday): Going into the weekend we didn’t know who the buyer was. Well now that the new week has started, the buyer as finally emerged as:
Israel’s Mano Maritime.

The vessel will be renamed to Princess Iris and sail for Mano Cruises. She’s currently in Athens and will likely undergo a refit there before commencing her new career for Israel’s only cruise line. The vessel doesn’t have any upcoming cruises so timeline-wise this could all happen very quickly.

Mano currently sails only one ship, the 1975 built, 17,496 Golden Iris (ex-Cunard Conquest, Cunard Princess, Rhapsody).

Greek owner Louis plc. have sold the ms Majesty (ex-Royal Majesty, Norwegian Majesty, Louis Majesty, Thomson Majesty). The buyer is undisclosed. My guess would be Asian interests or a European operator.

The ship was originally designed as a Scandinavian car ferry for Birka lines however wound up being sold and completed for Majesty Cruise Lines. That line was then bought by NCL and that’s how she wound up in NCL’s fleet.

The ship is currently summering in the Mediterranean sailing on short Greek Island cruises.
