Louis Cruises have announced they will part with the Med and send one ship over to the Caribbean this winter. Not only that, but she will sail to the embargoed Cuba.
One would think that it would be the recently removed from service Louis Majesty. Instead it will be the Louis Cristal. The former Silja, Star, NCL, and Sally ship will homeport in Havana and sail 1,200 pax to Cayo Guillermo, Bahia de Nipe, Santiago de Cuba, Cayo Los Caguamas, Cienfuegos, and Punta Frances.Her first cruise is slated to be December 4, 2011.
On a side note, the Cristal/Silja Opera/SuperStar Taurus/Leeward/Sally Albatross is my personal favorite ship. She also arguably has the most interesting history of any modern cruise ship.
