Ibero Cruises To Cease to Exist by End of Year

Bad news for Spanish line Ibero Cruises. Costa, Ibero’s parent company, has announced that the line will cease to exist as a brand by the end of the year. The ships are reportedly sailing with very low occupancy rates. The demise of this line is directly related to the faltering economy in Spain.

The small two-ship line currently sails the former Carnival Holiday and Carnival Celebration on cruises throughout Europe and South America, primarily Brazil.

Costa has announced that the Grand Celebration (ex-Carnival Celebration) will become Costa Celebration by April 2015. There is no word yet on the fate of the Grand Holiday (ex-Carnival Holiday).
