Fourth Oasis-class ship, Symphony of the Seas, Homeported in Miami

Royal Caribbean announced that the fourth Oasis-class vessel will be officially named Symphony of the Seas. Royal Caribbean’s newest flagship will be delivered in April 2018. She’ll spend her inaugural summer season sailing the Mediterranean, based out of Barcelona. She’ll then sail to her new home of Miami in November of 2018.

Royal Caribbean CEO Michael Bayley announced that the Symphony will take the crown as the worlds largest cruise ship when she’s launched. She will measure 230,000gt. This is just over 3,000gt more than her sister, and reigning largest cruise ship Harmony of the Seas.
The additional tonnage comes from her being slightly wider and longer than the other Oasis class ships. This will also allow them to add 28 more staterooms to the ship.

You might recall last summer that Royal Caribbean was building a new terminal in Miami. They just broke ground on it yesterday and this will be what Symphony will use when she calls Miami. Royal also announced that the Allure of the Seas will also shift down to Miami. This will leave Port Everglades with only one Oasis-class ship, Harmony.
