The Disney Magic is spending her summer months cruising around Europe. This is where the stumbled upon 18 Algerians while cruising from Gibraltar to Barcelona in the Med. The ship the North African’s were on had lost power and was adrift. The vessel was able to rescue the stranded sailors and provided them with cabins (must not have been a sold out trip) and food. The Magic was aiding two other vessels in the area and the three of them were trying to keep a visual on the craft.

I’m onboard the Magic right now and Captian John came on at about noon today and announced that at 3:45am this morning, the Magic rec’d a SOS call stating that a nearby ship heard screams in the water. The ship then commenced rescue operations and found 18 Algierians who had been lost at sea for 4-5 days. They are onboard now and are recieving food and water and healthcare. WOW!
