The most famous ship in the American merchant fleet will be saved from the scrapyard yet again. The ships current owner, SS United States Conservancy, have partnered with Genting Group’s Crystal Cruises, to help restore the liner to service.
They aren’t planning on permanently mooring her in a port, a la the RMS Queen Mary.
Crystal Cruises CEO Edie Rodriguez announced:

They expect an entry into service in 2018.
