These blurry photos my be the first glimpse we have of 4 of the 9 ships that Carnival Corp placed in their massive 9 ship order back in March.

It was announced that of the nine, four would be built by Meyer shipyard and be LNG powered. Two would go to AIDA and the other two were unannounced. Today we now know that the other two will be going to Costa. It will actually be Meyer Turku that will be building the two Costa ships in their yard in Finland. When launched in 2019 and 2020 respectively, the 180,000gt ships will carry a record breaking 6,600pax.

The Costa ships will be based out of Savona, Italy and sail exclusively to the Mediterranean. I doubt we’ll hear much about the two Aida ships as they don’t wish to detract attention away from their current flagship under construction.

She looks very much like the AidaPrima being built in Japan. I’m curious is Meyer will use the vertical bow or if they will rake it at all.
