Costa Allegra Seen in Turkish Scrapyards

The Costa Allegra, the Costa vessel that broke down in the Indian Ocean, has finally reached the scrapyard in Turkey. Her sister is currently sailing for South Korea’s Harmony Cruises. Costa had originally tried to sell her to Harmony, but those talks broke down over the costs of shipyard repairs. In the end, Costa sold the vessel to the Turkish scrapyard for around USD$10 million. Current scrap value (according to ship2shore.it) is 260-280 dollars/tons (~USD$7.5 million).
