CDC Issues Travel Notice for Saint Martin

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has just issues a travel notice for travelers headed to the Dutch/French Island of St Martin.

There are currently 10 reported cases of Chikungunya, which is a virus spread from mosquito bites, on the Island. There currently is no known vaccine or medicine to prevent chikungunya. Symptoms seem rather mild in most cases and include: fever, joint pain, headache, muscle pain.

The Carnival Dream and Carnival Valor are scheduled to call the Island soon and guests are being informed accordingly.

Holland America will be taking a similar approach.
