Carnival Triumph Thursday Update

Here’s the latest today:

  • There will be a third tug used. No word if this is for speed or maneuverability.
  • One of the towing lines snapped, so the tug pulling will have to be reconnected.
  • The Coast Guard have sent via helicopter a generator to add additional power to the ship.

  • Vessel is scheduled to arrive around 2200hrs tonight.
  • Vessel will be the largest ship to call the Mobile cruise terminal.
  • It will take some time to get the ship moored.
  • 4-5 hours to get guests off the ship.
  • Crew will help pax carry luggage and down the stairs with only one working elevator.
  • Listening to a press conference, I believe he just said they don’t have SatNav or SatComm.

  • Docking the ship isn’t going to be difficult as everyone seems to think. How do you think tankers dock? As long as you have tugs and calm weather, it’ll be a breeze.
