Carnival Sunshine Wasn’t Ready to Receive Pax This Morning

The newly renovated, and practically new ship, Carnival Sunshine set sail on its “inaugural” voyage today. However, it seems not all the work was done in time. Pax were reporting that their cabins were not ready upon check-in.

UPDATE: Cruise Critic has the following quote from Carnival PR:

Carnival spokeswoman Jennifer De La Cruz clarified the meaning of "minor issues" for Cruise Critic.
"There was a group of cabins in the forward section of decks nine – 12 that were not ready at embarkation," she said. Passengers in these staterooms were given a complimentary lunch with wine in the steakhouse and free vaporetto tickets, while onboard crew finished the cabins.

De La Cruz also emphasized that the flooring in the WaterWorks and SportSquare areas, which are not done yet, would have been done if the weather had not been so bad in Italy over the past few days.

Nice gesture by Carnival with the free lunch with wine in the steak house.
