Following Carnival’s Spirit and Celebrity’s Solstice, Royal Caribbean announced that they will move their former flagship, Voyager of the Seas, to Asia starting in June of 2012. She’ll base out of Shanghai, China and sail everything from 4 to 10 night trips. Destinations will primarily be in Japan, Korea and China.

After her season in Asia, she’ll repo down to Sydney and sail Australia for the winter 2012.

Voyager was scheduled to be in the Med for that time frame. No word yet on if a replacement ship will take her place. The sluggish bookings for this summer may make a replacement ship unnecessary.
