Bahama Mama Fails CDC Inspection

via Balearia Bahamas Express

The Balearia Bahamas Express operated m/s Bahama Mama (ex-SF Alhucemas) has reportedly failed a CDC Vessel Sanitation Program inspection. These are the twice annual random inspection of a ships galley’s and machinery areas. It’s a U.S. Government program that all vessels sailing from a U.S. Ports must comply with regardless of their flag. I put a copy of the report at the bottom of this post.

This same ship also had issues with certain fire deficiencies during a US Coast Guard inspection eariler in the year. Here’s the report from Lloyds:

14-Jan-2015:
System: Fire Fighting,
Sub System: Fixed Fire Detection System,
Deficiency: Vessel does not have appropriate means to test installed flame detectors,
Resolved: True,
Resolved Date: 04-mar-2015,
Resolved Descr: Vessel received flamegard test lamp for testing flame detectors.
