Anthem arrived back in Southampton and will leave this afternoon on her Inaugural voyage to Spain.

Hello and welcome to our Inaugural Anthem of the Seas blog.
Today celebrates the day that Royal Caribbean has officially taken possession of the ship from Meyer Werft.
Where the Quantum had a giant pink Polar Bear, the Anthem will have a giant giraffe.

Here’s some background on the sculpture:
Anthem of the Seas’ newest resident – a giraffe wearing a swimsuit and buoy – is lifted into place. This artwork is an illustration of artist, Jean-François Fourtouâs sense of humor and taste for incongruity. His work uses changes in scale and surprising diversions to question memory and perception, and strive to remind the viewer of the people and things one loves and cares for.
