[RUMOR] P&O Changing Their Flagships Livery

UPDATE II: And here’s an official promo video.

UPDATE: And its just been confirmed! Turns out the announcement was made official at an awards show in London.

P&O just updated their site:

A bold new look!

Britannia will embrace a bold new 94 metre Union Flag on her bow displaying the longest version of the Flag anywhere in the world. The new style represents a contemporary approach to cruising which looks to the future, whilst celebrating the past. The new imagery on the bow will be sympathetic to Britannia’s sweeping lines and enhance her presence across the world in port and at sea.

Her other distinctive features include blue funnels carrying an illuminated rising sun motif which depicts the Oriental part of the Peninsular and Oriental (P&O) name on the company’s Coat of Arms.

Looks like we were the first blog to break this story 🙂

A reporter from the BBC has the following renders of the 2015 newbuild for England’s P&O Cruises. No longer are the funnel the canary yellow (or gold depending how you look at it.) There’s also a union jack hull art on both sides. They’re definitely pushing the flagship  of Britain thing.

Ordered in 2011, the ship is currently being constructed in Italy. She’ll be roughly 141,000gt, and features a very similar arrangement to the Royal/Regal Princess.

Its been confirmed on theBritannia page .P&O has yet to confirm this on their Britannia page and are still showing the old colors on their website. The new colors do fit their logo which does appear on the webite.
