Princess Takes Delivery of Majestic Princess

Princess cruises have officially taken ownership of the Majestic Princess. The third ship in the Royal-class (fourth if you count the Britannia), will be exclusive to the Asian market. She’s considered the first international luxury ship tailored for the China market. She will sail a couple of Mediterranean cruises before repositioning to the far east via a Silk Road Sea Route. She’ll arrive in Shanghai in July.
It was a star studded event (for the cruise industry that is.) The handover ceremony was even attended by the Italian Prime Minister, Paolo Gentiloni. Carnival Corp was represented by executives: Micky Arison, Chairman; Arnold Donald, CEO; Stein Kruse, CEO HAL Group, Jan Swartz, President of Princess Cruises; Anthony Kaufman, EVP of Ops at Princess Cruises; and Cherry Wang, VP and GM of Princess China. Fincantieri was represented by Giuseppe Bono, Chief Executive Officer, and Giampiero Massolo, Chairman.

Here’s a few shots of her interior. You can see that even though she’s been customized for the far east market, she still looks like a princess ship. Lots of light colors, mostly shades of tan, used throughout.
