Pacific Hits the Scrappers in Turkey

The historic Pacific (ex-Pacific Princess, Sea Venture) rose to fame as the original Love Boat from the popular TV Series. Since her days with Princess she’s sailed for Pullmantur and the recent start-up Quail cruises.

The photo above is the first I’ve seen of her in the scrap yard of Aliaga, Turkey.

Last last week it was announced that 2 workers had died while dismantling some piping inside the ship.

Maritime Historian Peter Knego set out to capture the vessel in this fantastic photo essay only a short while ago. These will probably be the last photos we see of her.
