Jewel of the Seas plagued by Mechanical Issues

Royal Caribbean’s Jewel of the Seas missed Stockholm, Sweden today due to a mechanical problem with he ships propulsion. A spokeswoman for RCCL, Cynthia Martinez, stated that it was a problem with “one of the four hydraulic motors on the starboard propulsion system” what ever that means. Not sure what a hydraulic motor has to do with a propulsion unit. Whatever the case may be, she is limping along at a reduced speed until a permanent fix can be applied. Future ports will be impacted only so far as St.Petersburg Russia where the ability to complete a more thorough fix can occur at.

RCCL is offering those onboard between $150 to $250 per cabin in onboard credit based on cabin booked.
