Fincantieri Officially Purchases Stake in STX France
Fincantieri has officially purchased a majority stake in STX France for $89 million. They now own two-thirds of the yard. The French government will own the remaining third. They haven’t announced what the new name of the yard will be. Throughout their history, the yard has gone through some ownership changes from Alstom (French), to Aker (Norwegian), to STX (Korean) and now to Fincantieri (Italian).
The French yard has 12 firm orders for ships throughout the next 7 years.
