UPDATE Tuesday: Royal Caribbean has announced that as a result of damage to the ship, they are canceling the next three cruises (April 7, 14 & 21 [Transatlantic]). There’s speculation that she suffered damage to one of her Azipods. At the time of the incident, it would have been aligned with an underwater cofferdam used to replace it. It most likely struck this.

She’ll leave as soon as possible and head direct to Cadiz Spain where she will be fully taken out of the water. Interestingly enough, the Carnival Triumph/Sunrise is currently in that dry dock and will need to vacate it.

Now many details are known as of yet, but Royal Caribbean’s 225,000gt ship has had what’s being called in ‘incident.’

Here’s another video of the ship:

Royal Caribbean is reporting that there are eight injuries; none considered life threatening.

While undergoing a drydock in the Bahamas, Oasis of the Seas has developed a list to starboard as well as a crane collapsing. So far it’s unknown what happened first. In the Bahamas Press video you can see a list to the vessel as well as a crane striking the aquatheater suites.

The Oasis-class has typically gone over to Europe for their dry docking as the Grand Bahama Shipyard hasn’t been able to lift a vessel of her size.
