Expedition cruise ship Plancius, is now anchored on the lee side of South Georgia Island after mechanical problems hampered her propulsion. The line stated that she can only travel at 5 kts in calm conditions. Operated by Oceanwide Expeditions, she is currently on a month long journey in the southern ocean.

Oceanwide has cancelled the current voyage and have arranged for a relief  vessel, the Ushuaia, to rescue the 114 pax currently on board. She will sail from Argentina to South Georgia Island and arrive on Wednesday. From there the Ushuaia sail to  Montevideo, Uruguay, thus concluding their cruise. Her ETA is May 24.
